bedazzled

this is an image from a cover of a magazine which i thought looked very interesting to draw because of all the fabric and detail. it was also a good practice for drawing people, because i am afraid of people.

This is the UNCG PARK & RIDE bus stop. I spend a lot of time here waiting for the bus when I do drive. Since I do not live on campus I don't spend much time out of the studio, which is my second perspective. I basically live in studio, I love it.

fallingwater

falling water was very difficult to draw. i felt as if i could not do it justice but i feel like i was about to capture the structure. it was very difficult to shade because of the many areas overlaping.
this is an image a sketched during the tour. this is in one of that hallways it has water running trough it which was actually a happy accident for frank lloyd wright.

this is a quickly done sketch where i tried to show the surroundings of the house as well as the house. the scale figures in this image were actually people visiting the house. i also use the trees as a way to frame my drawing.

if you ever get a chance so see falling water it is deffinatly worth it, you can learn a lot!

MONTICELLO

THIS IS A DRAWING WITH A REALY FEATHER PEN THAT THEY HAD SET UP FOR CHILDREN AT MONTICELLO. I TOOK THIS OPORTUNITY TO EXPERIMENT WITH A NEW MEDIA. IT WAS QUITE DIFFICULT BUT VERY FUN.
THIS IS THE BACK OF MONTICELLO. I CHOSE TO DRAW THE BACK BECAUSE IT WAS MORE INTERESTING THAN THE FRONT. IT WAS VERY HARD TO GET EVERYTHING INTO PERSPECTIVE AND PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I WAS DRAWING BECAUSE OF ALL THE DISTRACTIONS AROUND ME. THERE IS ALSO THE TICKET FROM MONTICELLO WHICH IS A REMINDER OF WHEN WE WERE THERE.

THIS IS A RUIN OF THE JOINERY HOUSE. IT WAS A CRAFTMAN/WOODWORKERS HOUSE. THIS IS ALL THAT REMAINS OR IT. IT IS A FIREPLACE AND CHIMBNEY AND IN THE BACKGROUND YOU CAN SEE THE GARGEN.

OUR VISIT TO MONTICELLO WAS VERY AMAZING. IT WAS GREAT TO BE ABOUT TO PUT MYSELF IN THE PICTURE I HAVE SEE OF THIS WONDERFUL PLACE.

Gateway through a learning experience

Model of the exterior space where our gateway was going to erected.

First ideation. The groupd models. We all had the same basic idea.

How to make it structurly stable. This idea was actually used to hold up our arch.

Looked cool as a model but completly was defiying gravity.

EPIC FAIL

arches were cardboard ovelapped and bolted together.

trip to Lowes. We met with our friend Andre who helped figure out how much wood we needed.(he also supplied us with cardboard) "THANKS ANDRE!"

A lot of wood and not enough car space.

Ok, so we got the thing up...now what?

Well i like oculi so lets install that.

This was deffinatly a learning experience. The actual project didn't go as planned but i have learned what i could have to to make it work much better.

Next step was to collect all the bottle we needed. This included dumster diving. Very fun, I'm just glad it was only recycling.

We had to rince out all the bottle and remove the caps and papers. This took for ever!

We wanted to have the pannels that went in and out. I had to figure out the dimentions to make it fit snug into the window frame so it could hold itself up.

Saturday in the Iarc lobby. Here we were trying to coordinate all of out windows. We drew the outline of the shape we wanted then went off on our own to create our individual pannels.

SKETCH MODEL #1

I decided to play with another material and I chose balloons because they were colorful and i was interested to see how the light would interact with them.

TAH-DAH! my window!

This is the final product which was a succcess
